This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a background in service charge or property accounting to play a key role in supporting our continued growth.
The Role
As our Service Charge Accounts Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring service charge accounts are accurate, transparent, and compliant. You will work closely with property managers, directors, and leaseholders to provide financial clarity, whilst also supporting the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing and reviewing residential service charge accounts in line with lease agreements and industry best practice.
* Reconciling service charge income and expenditure.
* Producing year-end accounts packs, liaising with 3rd party accountants and ensuring deadlines are met.
* Managing forecasts for service charge funds.
* Maintaining accurate records and delivering clear, timely reporting.
* Liaising with shareholders to resolve queries with professionalism and clarity.
* Ensuring compliance with RICS guidelines.
* Supporting team members and driving improvements in processes and controls.
About You
We are looking for a proactive professional who can bring both technical accounting expertise and excellent communication skills.
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience in service charge accounting (residential).
* Strong knowledge of leasehold accounting principles and relevant legislation.
* Proficiency with accounting/property management software.
* AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA (desirable but not essential).
* High attention to detail, with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues, landlords, and leaseholders.
* The ability to manage your own workload and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
About You
* Minimum 1 year of experience in Service Charge Accounts role.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
* Able to manage multiple tasks and solve problems effectively
* A team player with a flexible and supportive attitude
