We are supporting a Manchester infrastructure management consultancy in the appointment of a Planner. The service objective is to finance, design, construct, and maintain the infrastructure programme in accordance with good industry practice, contractual requirements, and agreed output, delivering on time, to the required quality standards, and within budget.
Principle responsibilities will be to:
1. Ensure compliance with relevant construction obligations under the project agreement
2. Support the project company in meeting output requirements and construction standards
3. Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure delivery alignment with contractual obligations
As a Planner you will take an integral role responsible for the following:
4. Proactive identification of programme and schedule risks, including leading mitigation workshops to protect critical path activities
5. Provide "what-if" programme analysis to support decision-making
6. Manage programme data to produce leading and lagging performance indicators
7. Develop programme filters, layouts, and structured lookahead schedules (4-week and 6-month horizons)
8. Verify and validate progress across design, procurement, and construction activities
9. Conduct programme integrity checks on the contractor's schedule submissions
10. Support analysis and implementation of programme impacts arising from contractual change events
11. Contribute to digital, data-driven programme monitoring and reporting systems
12. Support preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports
13. Maintain and update programme trackers and reporting tools
14. Manage programme registers and ensure robust document control of submissions
15. Maintain awareness of programme linkages to cost and commercial models
YOU:
16. Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
17. Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6
18. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
19. Familiarity with Acumen Fuse (desirable but not essential)
20. 3+ years' experience managing large-scale programmes within infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors
21. Experience in programme reporting, monitoring, and stakeholder/contractor interface management
