The Role – Assembly Operative
We are looking for an Assembly Operative to join our busy sheet metal fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate assembly of precision sheet metal fabrications and mechanical components to meet customer specifications and high-quality standards.
The Role:
* Assemble sheet metal fabrications, including frames, brackets, and enclosures, to specification
* MUST be able to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering instructions, and work orders
* Fit mechanical components such as doors, hinges, locks, castors, and inserts
* Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and efficiently
* Conduct quality checks to ensure all work meets company and customer standards
* Follow health and safety procedures, including safe handling of materials and tools
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workstation
Our Requirements:
* Previous experience in an assembly or production role within a sheet metal or fabrication environment is preferred
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
* Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well
* Understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
* Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium is desirable
The Package:
As an Assembly Operative you will be working Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:45 pm, and will benefit from:
* Hourly rate of £13.50 - £14 per hour
* Paid overtime available from time to time
* Contributory pension scheme
* 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (Pro-rata for 4-day week)
