Our client, a prominent firm within the construction sector, is currently seeking a skilled Project Engineer to assist in the delivery of civils works for a project at Stansted. This initial 6-month contract role has been deemed inside IR35 and requires a solid background in civil engineering, with an emphasis on groundworks and piling.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the Project Manager's representative on site, providing daily oversight and technical input.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and programme.
Identify and report defects and non-conformances; track and manage close-out actions.
Review and accept contractor permit submissions.
Coordinate with Construction Managers and assist in resolving site blockers.
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure operational alignment.
Validate contractor-reported progress and highlight discrepancies.
Provide technical expertise on construction methodologies and techniques.
Review RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, CEMP, and other contractor documentation.
Advise on potential Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs), and support validation of contractor claims.
Job Requirements:
Strong background in civil engineering, including groundworks and piling.
Familiarity with heavy lifting operations and associated safety protocols.
Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Ability to work on-site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week.
