What you’ll be doing as a Children's Worker
* Support the children and young people in all day‑to‑day activities and interests
* Be restraint trained, or be willing to undergo the 3‑day course
* Promote the young person’s independence and wellbeing
* Attend weekends away, holidays and trips with the children
* Attend weekend and evening activities to support the children in their interests (e.g., climbing, baking cakes, weekend stays at Butlins)
* Protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare
* Provide emotional and practical support within your home
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
* Support, overcome, and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
What you’ll need to be a successful Children's Support Worker
* A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
* Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
* At least 6 months experience of working with children or within a similar social care setting
* TMVA restraint training certificate
* Valid UK driving licence
* Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
* Right to work in the UK
