Currie Solutions are recruiting for a Group Fleet Maintenance Manager to join their team.
Please note that depending on candidate location, this role can be based at either our Ecclefechan or Warrington depot. (travel to other locations may be required)
Hours of work: 45 hours per week
Key objectives of role:
* Maintain vehicles in a safe and efficient operating condition.
* Comply with fleet regulations whilst supporting the business on the Road Traffic Act 2010 and update policies and processes as required.
* Improve the operational performance of the fleet, by minimising the operative downtime and optimising the maintenance network.
* Control and reduce operating costs, providing specialist knowledge relating to the Fleet.
* Support and co-ordinate the management by working closely with operations and the supply chain.
* Define specification in procurement of additional and replacement assets on a rotational basis to achieve the best operational decision and value for money.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage Currie's compliance team, booking repairs, MOTs, servicing requirements, RFL's and accident management.
* Maintain records for registration, licensing and maintenance, proving that the fleet is compliant with regulations whilst achieving best value for money.
* Manage maintenance schedules to ensure that the optimum numbers of vehicles are working at all times to meet Currie's customer needs.
* Control the operational budget for the management of fleet repairs.
* Lead the on-boarding and disposal of all Currie company vehicles.
* Implement, maintain and develop policies and processes to ensure the fleet operates effectively and efficiently, educating staff with the industry's concepts, practices and procedures.
Person-Profile:
* Experience of providing strategic and operational leadership of a commercial fleet.
* Experience of managing a large fleet of commercial vehicles.
* Experience of creating schedules, maintenance records and fleet related invoicing, with the experience to challenge estimate and invoice values.
* Experience of minimising impact on business whilst conducting cyclical and incidental fleet repairs.
* Excellent knowledge of the VOSA/ DVSA regulatory requirements and a strong working knowledge of UK fleet and transport legislation.
Qualifications:
* Current driving license.
* Demonstrable experience of at least supervisory level.
* CPC Holder desirable not not essential
Skills:
* Comprehensive technical and mechanical knowledge.
* Reasonable IT skills using MS word and excel.
* Proactive, self-motivated and work on own initiative.
