Job Description

As Corporate Security Senior Advisor, you’ll work in a small team responsible for ensuring security risks are addressed and our security culture is improved. You will be a role model for security, promoting a positive culture and cultivating good behaviours. Your role will involve protecting the organisation from security threats affecting our people, data, information, or physical assets.
In this role you will:
1. Help the Corporate Security Manager oversee and mitigate security risks.
2. Provide leadership on assessing and managing security risks, including our retained responsibilities.
3. Collaborate with risk owners across the organisation to understand, assess, and mitigate risks.
4. Provide assurance to the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), EA Board, and Executive Directors.
5. Partner with Defra group Security to implement security strategies, policies, and processes.
6. Lead initiatives to improve security culture through training, communication, and engagement.
7. Conduct governance meetings to oversee security decisions.
8. Maintain networks with security professionals to stay updated on the latest developments.

The team
You will be part of a small, welcoming team within the Corporate Management, Assurance, and Security group, focused on protecting and empowering the organisation. You will have access to professional security advice from Defra group Security and collaborate with subject matter experts in the Environment Agency.
Experience/Skills Required
* Understanding of the broader influences affecting organisational security to facilitate continuous improvement.
* Proven leadership skills to influence, inspire, and achieve outcomes.
* Ability to build effective partnerships with Defra and Environment Agency colleagues to jointly manage risks.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities, and balancing demands.
* Experience in inspiring cultural change, stakeholder engagement, communication, and implementing business change is advantageous.

This is a hybrid role; you will be based at your nearest location in England with the option to work from home. Some national travel may be required.
