On 1 April 2019 Cwm Taf University Health Board changed its name to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as it took responsibility for providing healthcare services for the people in the Bridgend County Borough area. Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB now provides primary, community, hospital, and mental health services to the 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Ideally situated between Wales's capital city, Cardiff, to the south, the coastal town of Porthcawl to the west, and the stunning scenery of the Brecon Beacons to the north, we operate within a vibrant community, rich in history and heritage.
Services will continue to be delivered across a network of Community Clinics, Health Centres and Community Hospitals supported by three District General Hospitals, Princess of Wales hospital in Bridgend, Prince Charles hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, and Royal Glamorgan hospital in Llantrisant.

Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to work as part of the clinical team within the General Surgical environment. The successful candidate will be joining the team on Ward 9, which is a 28 bedded general surgical ward. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and will be expected to undertake fundamental aspects of patient care including recording patients vital signs, assisting with personal care, feeding and toileting.
Due to ongoing estates issues we have temporarily relocated to Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant. We will return to Princess of Wales later this year.

The individual will be required to have good written and communication skills to be able to relate to patients, members of patients' families and the multidisciplinary team that work within the clinical area. Informal visits are encouraged. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
