Location: Hatfield
Leaving Care Solutions are seeking committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to work on a casual basis, covering shifts as needed. This role offers flexibility with no contractual obligations.
Our mission is to make a positive and lasting difference for young people in care moving towards independence, providing accommodation and support for their educational and personal development.
As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, your role involves delivering a responsive, personalized, and high-quality service to young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment for vulnerable young people, supporting their needs and well-being.
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:
Working according to person-centered risk assessments and support plans, and liaising with support staff for comprehensive handovers
Monitoring behavioral changes, documenting observations, and reporting support needs
Maintaining positive relationships with young people, colleagues, and external professionals
Providing continuous support aligned with day staff standards, focusing on safety
Carrying out health and safety procedures, including cleaning and policy adherence
Coordinating with external agencies such as police and Emergency Duty Teams (EDT)
Supporting young people during hospital or police station visits
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience supporting vulnerable young people
Flexibility to work weekends and varied hours
Qualification in Residential Childcare, Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level in Health & Social Care, or willingness to study towards
Full driving license and access to a vehicle
