We are looking for a reliable, dedicated and trust worthy individual to join our dynamic team in our Manufacturing Department based on site in Birmingham, West Midlands.
This vacancy is a diverse and varied role that gives the successful candidate the opportunity to work within the manufacturing department of our business that is renowned as industry leading within our sector.
The Ideal Candidate
for this role would display the following characteristics:
1. Be highly organised and able to work under pressure during busy periods.
2. Be able to reliably commute to the Birmingham based office.
3. Have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to work extended hours if required.
4. Clean driving licence is preferable.
5. Understand basic manufacturing terminology, use of differing measurements.
6. Understand the principles of manufacturing and good working practices.
7. Ability to make basic calculations around material dimensions and specifications.
8. Able to get on with others and a team player.
9. Adaptable, reliable, tolerant and determined.
Key Responsibilities
10. To manufacture metal to the required customers dimensions using on site machinery such as guillotines, disc cutters, fly presses, circular saws.
11. Packaging of customer orders and preparation of orders for despatch, completed to an exemplary level of accuracy whilst taking care of presentation.
12. Liaise with the General Manager to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders and tasks.
13. Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the General Manager.
14. Train to be able to carry out the maximum range of tasks, for which they are capable, within the workshop department.
15. Comply with all aspects of the Health and Safety procedures at all times.
16. Ensure that all defined personal protection equipment is utilised within the workshop for the safe use of machinery/tooling.
17. Liaise closely with other departments within the business such as sales/procurement to ensure our high levels of customer service are maintained at all times.
18. Management of stock ensuring all stock is recorded accurately and stored in the correct areas.
19. Management of waste metal ensure all waste metal is accurately recorded and stored correctly.
20. Forklift license / experience an advantage
