Maintenance Engineer (Nightshift)
The Maintenance Engineer will support the running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and delivering planned maintenance. They will be required to drive improvements across the site in terms of new machinery, hygiene, quality, and performance.
They will be responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance work, ensuring it is carried out to the highest standards across the entire site. The role involves carrying out maintenance, repairs, and installations throughout the factory.
Rate of pay: £28.00 per hour + Enhanced rates for overtime
(13 Weeks probationary period CIS / Umbrella)
Shifts: Nightshift (39 hrs, Monday to Thursday, 7:45 pm - 5:45 am)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Electrical & Mechanical maintenance across the site
* Support the engineering department in delivering timely completion of the PPM schedule
* Attend to breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime; always seek opportunities to improve machine performance
* Ensure safety measures are utilized where applicable
* Implement lock out tag out procedures when necessary
* Report all equipment, building, or machinery defects promptly
* Maintain effective communication within the department
Authorities, Interface, Reporting, and Supervision
* Report to the Maintenance Manager
* Liaise with the Manufacturing Manager and Operations Manager
* Interface with Supervisors, Chargehands, and the QHSE Manager
Health, Safety & Environment
* Take responsibility for personal health and safety
* Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
* Report accidents and incidents to the QHSE Manager
* Wear issued PPE at all times
* Participate in risk assessments and follow control measures
Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes
* Responsible working attitude
* Electrical (18th edition required)
* Mechanical skills
* PLC fault finding
* Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Ability to read technical drawings
* Teamwork skills
