Organisation Injured Jockeys Fund Salary TBC Location Newmarket or Malton Contract type Permanent (Part time) Closing date 26 January 2026 Interview date 2 February 2026 Job Description The Injured Jockeys Fund is a charity whose vision and mission is to improve the lives of injured jockeys, past and present, and their families, by providing immediate and ongoing help and support, whether it be physical, emotional, financial, or pastoral.

As part of an exciting expansion of our medical services, we are appointing two Sports Physicians in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) to deliver coordinated, high‑quality care across our centres and in the community.

Working 1 or 2 days per week, including at least one on‑site day at either Peter O’Sulevan House in Newmarket, or Jack Berry House in Malton, you will play a key role in supporting injured and rehabilitating jockeys through expert clinical care and close multidisciplinary collaboration.

Salary: Competitive daily rate (contractor basis) or hourly rate to be confirmed with successful candidate.

Working hours: 1or 2 days per week – hours and days to be agreed with the successful candidates. There is no on‑call commitment, and flexibility is available around working patterns and travel arrangements.


Overall purpose of the role:
•Provide specialist sport and exercise medicine expertise to injured and recovering jockeys.
•Collaborate with physiotherapists, psychotherapists, nutritionists, and fitness teams to deliver evidence-based, person-centered care.
•Support the wider medical needs of IJF beneficiaries, including those with musculoskeletal injuries, concussion, chronic pain, and medical conditions affecting performance or recovery.
•Contribute to clinical governance, service development, and quality assurance across the IJF medical service.
