The Senior HCSW role is a Band 3 role and previous healthcare experience and Level 3 healthcare qualification is essential for direct entry into this role. Ideally this experience should be in an acute / hospital setting.
There will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills, specific to your needs. Training will be provided to ensure you have the required core skills and skills set specific to your areas of work.

You will be working alongside registered Nurses on the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Outpatients Department D501 which is set across the main unit in BHOC and also the satellite units.
You will be expected to carry out a range of clinical duties with minimal/ no supervision, including patient observations, glucose monitoring, specimen collection, ensuring delivery of high quality patient care at all times. NB: this list is not exhaustive and will vary depending on area of work.
With the relevant training you will be expected to gain competencies in venepuncture, Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) line care and carry out venesections.
Within the role of the senior HCSW with the relevant training you will be expected to help coordinate the Satellite units by ensuring the safe delivery of treatments and supplies which involves being IT literate and communicating with the wider multidisciplinary teams.
Shift patterns are Monday- Friday 8am-6pm including bank holidays.
