Role: Lecturer - Computing
Location: Bedford College - Cauldwell Street
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note - Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing department at The Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities:
* Teaching & Learning Delivery – Prepare, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across a range of courses, tailored to individual student needs and aligned with awarding body standards.
* Student Support & Progression – Guide and support students to achieve their potential, monitor progress, manage behaviour, and ensure a high-quality learning experience.
* Curriculum & Quality Assurance – Develop schemes of work and learning materials, contribute to course reviews, and implement quality processes including student feedback and moderation.
* Administration & Collaboration – Complete course‑related admin tasks accurately and on time, participate in team meetings, and support promotional activities such as open days and careers events.
* Statutory Responsibilities – Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health & safety, and engage in ongoing training and development in line with TBCG policies and procedures.
About you
Qualifications & Subject Expertise: Degree in Computing or related field (or equivalent experience), GCSEs in English and Maths, and willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
Teaching & Learning Experience: Ability to teach Computing subjects, recent teaching experience in UK education, and commitment to delivering high‑quality learning experiences for diverse student groups.
Communication & Professional Conduct: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to build supportive environments, uphold professional standards, and promote the college's reputation.
Teamwork & Organisational Skills: Proven ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, contribute to team goals, and demonstrate excellent planning and administrative capabilities.
Safeguarding & Continuous Development: Commitment to safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries, updating skills and knowledge, and awareness of health and safety requirements.
