Digital PR Executive - Data focused
Salary: Up to 30,000 DOE
Altrincham Office - Hybrid after initial training period
Thanks to client growth, we're expanding our team to hire a Digital PR who loves data as much as coverage.
As a Data Digital PR Executive, you'll be at the heart of our most exciting Digital PR campaigns – transforming data into stories that make headlines.
From sourcing and scraping datasets to building rankings, indexes, and comparisons, you'll be the person who uncovers the angles that journalists can't resist.
You'll work hand in hand with our Digital PR Leads and Specialists, owning the data side of campaigns from start to finish: research, collection, analysis, story development, and final outputs - with the option to run outreach if that's your bag.
If you love numbers, trends, and finding the "so what?" in a dataset – this is the role for you.
The Day to Day
* Own data-related aspects of assigned Digital PR campaigns.
* Generate newsworthy campaign ideas for a range of clients
* Research and collect datasets from trusted sources (ONS, WHO,, Statista, FOI, Kaggle, etc.).
* Write effective survey questions and run polls to generate fresh insights.
* Review, clean, and analyse data to find the most interesting, story-worthy angles.
* Spot trends, outliers, and unexpected results that journalists love.
* Use browser-based scraping tools when scripting isn't viable.
* Evaluate data for accuracy, feasibility, and campaign relevance.
* Produce publishable outputs: rankings, indexes, top 10s, comparisons, and visual datasets.
* Write clear methodologies that explain data sources and logic in journalist-friendly language.
* Occasionally, liaise directly with journalists to make complex data simple and accessible.
* Write content landing pages to translate the data into consumer-friendly news.
* Survey tools: Typeform, Google Surveys, Pollfish, One Poll
* FOI request platforms: WhatDoTheyKnow or direct government portals.
Non-Essential
* Data tools: Excel/Google Sheets (essential), plus Python, R, or SQL.
* Visualisation tools: Tableau, Flourish, Datawrapper (to create charts/maps).
* Media tools: Muck Rack, Response Source, Qwoted, SOS, HARO
What We're Looking For
* 1–2 years' experience in a data analysis role (agency or freelance preferred).
* Strong in Google Sheets and Excel (cleaning, analysis, pivoting, formulas, formatting).
* Proficient in web scraping
* Strong understanding of Digital PR and SEO basics.
* Skilled at judging data feasibility early and communicating limitations clearly.
* Excellent written communication – especially in methodology writing.
* Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
* Curious, proactive, and excited to uncover the stories hidden in data.
* Advantageous, but not essential
* Comfortable writing scripts to extract and manipulate data
Why This Role is Exciting
* A dedicated progression plan designed to see you flourish and grow with us
* A chance to teach and mentor or grow as an individual contributor.
* You'll grow your expertise in one of the fastest-moving areas of PR and SEO.
* Part of a close-knit, people-focused team where work-life balance is at the heart of success.
