Logistics Engineer Role Overview Support the successful execution of complex infrastructure and energy projects—such as large-scale offshore wind developments—by planning, managing, and executing all logistics activities for onshore components. This includes the movement and coordination of materials and equipment from suppliers to project sites, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and international trade regulations. Key Responsibilities Logistics Planning & Execution Develop and implement logistics strategies for onshore transport operations including road freight, sea freight, air freight, and multimodal solutions. Oversee the packaging, marking, handling, and delivery of materials such as heavy-lift and oversized components. Prepare and issue transport and logistics RFQs; evaluate offers, clarify proposals, and negotiate terms with service providers. Coordinate the end-to-end delivery process, ensuring compliance with project timelines and technical specifications. Supplier & Transport Management Manage relationships with transport service providers, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Conduct supplier performance reviews and report on key metrics to the sourcing and procurement teams. Ensure method statements for sensitive operations are developed and executed in alignment with safety protocols. Handle contract non-conformance issues and escalate major concerns to the relevant internal stakeholders. Risk Management & Reporting Monitor and report on logistics risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. Work closely with project and quality teams to manage logistical interfaces and ensure operational continuity. Collaborate with third-party inspection and quality assurance firms, such as Bureau Veritas, to ensure compliance during the fabrication and delivery stages. Performance Metrics On-time and complete delivery of materials and equipment. Adherence to logistics budget and achievement of savings targets. Timely release of accurate shipping documentation. Compliance with international and internal logistics policies. Implementation of robust EHS practices across all logistics activities. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics for infrastructure, construction, or energy projects. Strong understanding of heavy transport, dangerous goods handling, and industrial packaging. Proficiency in international trade practices (Incoterms, customs, Letters of Credit). Experience managing logistics for large or complex projects in regulated industries. Desirable: Experience working on renewable energy projects, particularly offshore wind. Familiarity with working alongside quality and inspection partners such as Bureau Veritas. Strong planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Fluent in written and spoken English.
