We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer to join our local operations. As Automation Engineer you will be working home-based as part of international project teamand will be responsible for the execution of automation systems, or parts thereof. This work requires readiness to travel 40-50% of your time, mostly across European market, working on both projects and bid proposals.
The Automation Engineer is responsible for:
1. Developing an automation solution which meets the requirements of the proposal or project:
2. Automation architecture diagrams
3. Hardware and software selection and specification
4. Control philosophy
5. Software structure
6. Functional design descriptions (. FDS)
7. Detailed design specifications (. DDS)
8. PLC software code (. device logic, equipment modules, control modules, etc)
9. Network and comms configuration
10. Design and configuration of HMI applications
11. Design and configuration of SCADA applications
12. Interface with SCADA systems, I/O servers, etc
13. Interface with MIS/MES systems and databases, where applicable
14. Interface with ERP systems, where applicable
15. Signal exchange / interfaces with other systems
16. Ensuring design and execution outputs are delivered in line with the time schedule and quality requirements
17. Providing technical support regarding automation design aspects throughout project and bid lifecycles
18. Undertaking other technical tasks as required (. site surveys, feasibility studies, support to sales, etc)
19. Providing aftermarket support for customers with on 24/7 support up to 1 week per month (possible travel)
In general, the Automation Engineer will work as part of a team and will collaborate closely with other team members and functional disciplines to ensure successful delivery of the project or bid scope.
Requirements:
20. Degree level qualification in appropriate engineering discipline (. Electrical)
21. Industrial automation execution experience, preferred in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and/or other hygienic industries
22. Knowledge and experience of Siemens and AB Rockwell programming environments (. S7, TIA Portal, Control Logix)
23. Good level of competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
24. Experience of Wonderware SCADA and associated products (. InTouch) beneficial
25. SAP experience beneficial
26. Good level of competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
27. Fluency in Engish
