Quant Capital is hiring on behalf of a leading global trading firm looking for a Trading Operations Engineer to join its team in Bolton. This role offers high exposure within a small, technically capable operations group supporting a multi-asset, multi-venue trading environment.
You will work on reconciliations, trade support, cash and collateral management, and process automation, ensuring the firm’s global trading infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment and wants their work to have a direct impact on performance.
Role Overview
This role provides hands-on experience with trading systems, operational processes, and financial products across the entire trade lifecycle. You will build and automate workflows, monitor risks, liaise with brokers and exchanges, and collaborate with engineers to develop new tools and reporting systems.
This is embedded, high-leverage work within a technically advanced, high-trust environment, not back-office operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform daily reconciliations of cash, positions, and trading activity
* Manage relationships with brokers and exchanges, resolving operational issues
* Monitor live risk and escalate issues as needed
* Develop and maintain automated tools using Python, Go, and SQL
* Support cash, margin, and collateral flows across multiple venues
* Handle reporting such as P&L, risk, treasury, and regulatory checks
* Participate in on-call support rotations
* Assist in onboarding new products, brokers, and venues
* Contribute to ad hoc analysis and data reporting projects
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maths, Engineering, or Computer Science (minimum 2:1)
* 2–3 years experience in trading operations or similar environment
* Proficiency in Python or Go scripting; SQL for data queries and manipulation
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams
* Self-starter with ownership mindset and scalable solution-building skills
* Familiarity with at least one asset class from an operations or support perspective
