Position overview
The Supply Chain Manager will lead end‑to‑end supply chain operations across procurement, supplier management, materials planning, inventory control, and logistics. This role is central to ensuring production continuity, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience as our client continues to scale up its manufacturing capability.
Supply Chain Manager Responsibilities
* Build a resilient, cost-effective supply base across precision engineering, electronics, and fabricated components.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, planning, and logistics.
* You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure suppliers meet stringent technical, quality, and delivery requirements.
* Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
* Develop and execute the supply chain strategy to support production, NPI, and commercial growth.
* Own supplier selection, onboarding, and performance management.
* Ensure suppliers meet quality, compliance, and technical standards required for safety‑critical products.
* Oversee MRP planning, demand forecasting, and stock optimisation.
* Ensure material availability to support production schedules and customer commitments.
* Implement inventory accuracy processes, cycle counting, and stock reduction initiatives.
* Collaborate with engineering on BOM accuracy, change control, and manufacturability.
* Work with production teams to resolve supply issues, expedite critical parts, and maintain build flow.
* Lead root‑cause analysis for supply disruptions and implement corrective actions.
* Manage inbound and outbound logistics, freight, customs, and export compliance.
* Ensure safe, compliant handling of technical components and assemblies.
* Optimise logistics partners, routes, and cost structures.
Supply Chain Manager Skills & Experience needed
* Proven experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Strong background in precision engineering, electronics, or complex assemblies.
* Expertise in supplier development, negotiation, and contract management.
* Solid understanding of MRP/ERP systems and data driven planning.
* Experience working in safety critical, regulated, or high-quality manufacturing sectors.
* Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast paced, scaling environment.
