The Role We are looking for an Audit & Accounts Senior to join a growing team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of audits and accounts projects, supervise junior staff, and build strong relationships with clients and senior management.
Key Responsibilities Lead and complete statutory audits from planning to finalisation
Prepare and review audit planning documents, risk assessments, and testing strategies
Conduct fieldwork, liaising with clients both on-site and remotely
Draft audit reports, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and firm procedures
Identify and communicate audit findings, technical issues, and opportunities for improvement
Prepare statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and relevant regulations
Produce management accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns
Prepare and review corporate tax computations
Supervise, review, and support the work of trainees and junior staff
Provide on-the-job training, constructive feedback, and performance guidance
Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture
Act as a key point of contact for clients during assignments
Build trusted client relationships by providing reliable and efficient service
Identify opportunities for additional services and highlight these to senior management
The successful candidate will be:
ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist with strong relevant experience)
Experienced, with at least 3 years in audit and accounts within a UK practice
Skilled in UK accounting and auditing standards
Proficient with accounting software (CCH, ProAudit, Sage, Xero advantageous but not essential)
Highly organised, able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
A confident communicator, both with clients and colleagues
