Eden Scott are delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading legal firms in their search to appoint and experienced Cashroom Assistant on a full-time, permanent and hybrid bases from their Edinburgh City Centre offices.

The role of Cashroom Assistant is to ensure the smooth running of the firm's financial processes to include accurate payment processing and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key duties of the role will include:
* Accurately process all bank receipts across client and office accounts
* Set up and review electronic payments (CHAPS, BACS, Faster Payments, International) ensuring full AML compliance
* Record payments, receipts, transfers, and billing transactions in the firm's financial system, including reversals, third-party cheques, and bulk uploads
* Manage daily movements within designated client accounts, including account openings and closures
* Review and authorise cheque requests in line with internal policies and timelines
* Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, cancel aged cheques, and return unallocated funds in accordance with procedures
* Liaise with Directors, Partners, Fee Earners, and other staff on transactional matters
* Prepare and submit regular cheque and cash deposits
* Calculate monthly and ad-hoc client interest
* Maintain secure electronic records for audit access
* Support the firm's annual audit process
* Participate in team meetings, contribute to process improvements, and ensure documentation remains current
* Assist with general cashroom and departmental duties as required
To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:
* Strong experience in a similar role (legal firm preferable)
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong IT literacy skills
* Ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced role
* Must be within commutable distance from Edinburgh City Centre
