Project Manager - Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plants

The Opportunity
A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant projects in Northampton. These facilities play a key role in converting organic waste into biomethane, contributing to the UK's transition toward sustainable energy.
This is a hands-on, site-focused role offering full project ownership across both technical delivery and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full lifecycle of AD plant construction and upgrade projects
Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary site teams
Oversee project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved
Take ownership of project budgets and cost control
Produce and manage weekly and monthly cost reports
Review contractor applications, variations, and financial forecasts
Identify and mitigate project risks
Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
About You
Proven experience as a Project Manager within:
Renewable energy, AD, biogas, or waste-to-energy
OR related sectors such as utilities, water treatment, or industrial/process engineering
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and civil elements of infrastructure projects
Experience delivering site-based projects
Demonstrable commercial awareness, including budget management and reporting
Ability to work autonomously in a lean project environment
Key Requirement - Commercial Responsibility
This role requires a Project Manager who is comfortable managing both delivery and commercial aspects of projects. You will be responsible for cost tracking, reporting, and financial oversight, making commercial awareness essential.
