A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a major new shipbuilding & MRO venture in Saudi Arabia as part of its early-stage growth.
This is a career-defining move for a procurement professional with a background in Defence, Naval Shipbuilding, Marine, Aerospace or Maritime MRO, who is excited by the opportunity to help build a greenfield operation from the ground up.
Your Mission
You will play a key role in establishing a high-performing procurement function, responsible for:
✅ Setting up procurement policies, procedures and governance frameworks
✅ Leading sourcing activities across key spend categories (marine, engineering & industrial)
✅ Managing supplier selection, negotiation and contract execution
✅ Supporting localisation and long-term supplier capability development
✅ Driving cost optimisation, supplier performance and strategic partnerships
✅ Ensuring compliance with regulatory, defence and quality standards
✅ Building and mentoring a local procurement team as the organisation matures
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
🔹 Strong procurement experience within Defence, Shipbuilding, Naval, Marine, Aerospace or MRO sectors
🔹 Expertise in procurement governance, supplier negotiations and contract management
🔹 Ability to design procurement processes and systems in a start-up or transformation environment
🔹 Experience with regulated/complex engineered goods and services supply chains
🔹 Strong stakeholder management and international supplier relationship skills
🔹 A hands-on and adaptable approach suited to an early-stage organisation
