Senior Procurement Manager - Direct & Indirect | £80,000 + £6,400 Car Allowance + 10% Bonus | £Multi-Billion Manufacturing, Industrial & Engineering Powerhouse | Manchester / Lancashire Area (Hybrid)

My client is a £multi-billion turnover energy and engineering firm with an outstanding reputation for innovation and excellence. As part of a comprehensive procurement transformation, they are now seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead a high-performing team and manage strategic sourcing across both Direct categories (e.g., gas cylinders, valves, pumps, industrial equipment, engineering parts) and Indirect categories (e.g., FM, MRO, PPE, Security, Travel, Subcontractors, etc.). This is a people management role, overseeing a team of 3 (Procurement Manager + 2 Senior Buyers), as well as driving key supplier relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
This role offers a fantastic mix of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and stakeholder engagement, positioning you as a pivotal player in the company's ongoing transformation and success.
* Lead and manage a team of 3 procurement professionals (Procurement Manager + 2 Senior Buyers), providing direction, mentorship, and development to build a high-performance team.
* Shape, develop, and execute sourcing strategies across both Direct and Indirect categories, aligning procurement goals with the company's transformation objectives and strategic priorities.
* Drive end-to-end procurement processes, including supplier negotiations, cross-functional alignment, and performance tracking.
* Achieve measurable cost savings, reduce risks, and enhance overall supply chain value through effective sourcing and procurement practices.
* Own supplier relationship management, including contract optimisation, performance reviews, and the implementation of key metrics to ensure supplier performance and value generation.
* Serve as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, guiding procurement-related decisions and managing escalations to ensure business needs are met and procurement goals are aligned with broader business objectives.
* Engage with key internal stakeholders, ensuring strong alignment with business goals and providing insights and recommendations on procurement strategies.
What You'll Bring | Senior Procurement Manager - Direct & Indirect:
* 8+ years of experience in Direct and/or Indirect procurement, ideally within sectors such as Energy, Pharma, Automotive, Chemicals, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
* Experience in people management, having successfully led teams or mentored procurement professionals to achieve high-performance goals.
* Strong understanding of commercial drivers, supply market dynamics, and a proven track record of cost reduction and performance improvements.
* CIPS/MCIPS qualified (or equivalent) with a relevant degree, and extensive experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience in managing relationships within complex or matrixed organizations.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess contract risks and value drivers, and make data-driven decisions to deliver value.
