About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Water Hygiene Technician to join our expanding team in the South West. You will be responsible for delivering a full range of water hygiene services across commercial, industrial, and healthcare sites, ensuring compliance with ACoP L8 and HTM 04-01 standards.
This is a hands‑on field‑based role, ideal for someone with a strong understanding of water hygiene practices and a proactive approach to maintaining water safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out cold-water storage tank cleans and disinfections.
* Perform TMV (Thermostatic Mixing Valve) servicing, testing, and replacements.
* Conduct mains water chlorinations and flushing.
* Take and record water temperature monitoring in accordance with site logbooks.
* Collect water samples for laboratory analysis where required.
* Complete site documentation and service reports accurately and promptly.
* Ensure all work complies with ACoP L8, HSG274, and internal company procedures.
* Liaise professionally with clients and site staff to maintain strong working relationships.
* Follow company health and safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience in water hygiene, water treatment, or legionella control.
* Good understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274 Part 2 requirements.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Willing to stay away
Desirable:
* Experience with mains chlorination and disinfection procedures.
* CSCS card and/or EUSR National Water Hygiene card (Blue Card).
* Legionella Awareness or City & Guilds qualification.
* Plumbing background (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
