Support Worker – Children's Supported Accommodation (Ofsted-Regulated)

Salary: £13 per hour
Hours: Full-time / Part-time / Shift work (including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins)
We are recruiting Support Workers to join our Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation service for children and young people aged [e.g. 16–18]. Our service provides a safe, supportive environment where young people are encouraged to develop independence, resilience, and life skills.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about safeguarding, child-centred care, and making a positive difference in young people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent emotional and practical support in line with individual support plans
* Promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for children and young people
* Always safeguard children in accordance with Guide to supported accommodation regulations including quality standard 2023.
* Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing living environment
* Support young people with daily routines, education, appointments, and life skills
* Manage and respond appropriately to challenging behaviour using trauma-informed approaches
* Complete accurate daily records, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation
* Work in partnership with social workers, local authorities, education providers, and other professionals
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary)
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Ability to work in line with policies, procedures, and Ofsted standards
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
* A child-centred, professional, and non-judgemental approach
Desirable
* Level 2/3 RQF, Diploma for Residential Childcare / Children & Young People (or willingness to work towards)
* Experience in Ofsted-regulated settings (supported accommodation, Home's, semi-independent living)
* Knowledge of trauma-informed care, attachment, or adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
* Full UK driving licence
