An exciting opportunity has arisen for development within the Sandwell School Health Nursing Service. We are seeking highly motivated, committed, innovative nurses with a desire to make a difference to children and young people working within the public health agenda.
As a student School Nurse, you will engage in training to complete the BSc (Hons) Degree in Community Health (Specialist Practitioner award in School Nursing). This involves liaising with relevant parties within the practice area and at the assigned university to achieve the 50% theory and 50% practical components of the course. To successfully complete the program, the student will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the School Nursing Team, carrying out clinical duties with patients/clients as agreed with your Lead Nurse for development and training within the service.
Sandwell School Health Nurses aim to deliver services that are visible and accessible to the school-aged population of Sandwell, providing universal public health services and ensuring early help and additional support are available to children and young people when needed.
The team comprises a skilled workforce including admin officers, support workers, staff nurses, and specialist practitioners.
