We are now seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager — a leader who sees opportunity where others see challenge, and who is motivated by building on solid foundations to deliver measurable, sustained improvement. The Opportunity As Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will take full accountability for the performance, capability and output of the Bellshill manufacturing operation. This is a senior leadership role with a clear mandate to strengthen quality standards, improve operational effectiveness and continue developing site capability and culture. You will lead teams manufacturing insulated glass units, conservatory roofing systems and bespoke glazing solutions, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and in line with Clayton Glass’s exacting standards. Your remit includes embedding quality discipline, developing people capability, driving operational improvement and sustaining customer confidence through reliable, right‑first‑time output. This role calls for energy, clarity of thought and decisive leadership. You will be expected to lead improvement in a structured, considered way — setting clear expectations, bringing people with you, and ensuring change translates into lasting results. Your Mandate You will take clear ownership of the Bellshill site, quickly building a deep understanding of performance, capability and opportunity and translating this into decisive action. Working closely with senior leadership, you will bring judgement, ideas and pace — ensuring agreed priorities move rapidly from intent to delivery. This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role. Success will be measured through tangible, sustained improvements in quality, operational performance, capability and profitability — outcomes the role holder can take genuine professional pride in. Key Focus Areas • Visible site leadership and culture change • Recovery and embedding of quality standards • Continuous improvement, waste reduction and right‑first‑time output • Production planning, labour optimisation and cost control • Development of supervisors and future leaders • Health, safety and regulatory compliance (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) • Commercial contribution through operational excellence What We’re Looking For • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading manufacturing operations in a demanding environment • Proven track record of fixing quality issues and delivering sustained operational improvement • Strong, confident leadership presence with the ability to challenge and reset standards • Solid knowledge of production planning, inventory control and cost management • IOSH (or equivalent) health & safety qualification • Full UK driving licence Experience in glass, glazing, building products or engineered manufacturing, Lean / CI methodologies, ERP systems and site turnarounds is highly desirable.
