MEP Commercial Manager
Salary: £90,000 – £130,000 per annum + comprehensive package (DOE)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Commercial Manager to join our clients delivery team on a landmark HS2 rail infrastructure project. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead commercial activities on one of the UK’s most prestigious engineering programmes, directly contributing to the shaping of the nation’s future rail network.
In this role, you’ll apply your expertise in pre- and post-contract management, procurement, and stakeholder engagement to drive commercial performance and efficiency across a complex MEP package. The position offers clear opportunities for professional growth, including full RICS training support and a structured pathway towards chartership.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer and manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, both upstream and downstream.
* Establish and maximise contractual entitlement, maintaining a proactive approach to cost recovery.
* Prepare and issue contract communications and notices (Early Warnings, Compensation Events, General Correspondence).
* Liaise and negotiate with client project and commercial teams.
* Foster productive relationships with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
* Advise on commercial and contractual risk, supporting project delivery teams.
* Identify and manage risks and opportunities to protect and enhance project margins.
* Lead project financial reporting, including cost control, CVRs, and cashflow forecasting.
* Administer subcontractor and supplier accounts from procurement through to final account.
* Support corporate governance and ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
* Proven experience in commercial management on major infrastructure or rail projects.
* Strong knowledge of NEC3/4 contract management.
* Demonstrable ability to resolve and prevent commercial disputes.
* Right to work in the UK.
* High levels of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to developing self and others.
Desirable:
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
* MEP systems experience within a major project environment.
* Background working for a main contractor or joint venture.
* Experience managing self-delivery and subcontractor packages across design, installation, and commissioning phases.
* Working towards or already holding RICS or equivalent chartership.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
