Who are we?
Within the @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising seven partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain. We deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment program.
As we prepare for our most ambitious Asset Management Period yet, AMP8, we will undertake a larger and more innovative project portfolio, focusing on nature-based solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes. We are committed to driving change, setting global benchmarks, and building a better environment, while offering growth and development opportunities for our workforce.
With numerous projects planned to ensure water flow across the region, our success depends on effective management and exceeding customer expectations. We aim to maintain high standards of project design, leveraging innovation and creativity to deliver more with less. To support this, we are seeking several talented Process Engineers to strengthen our engineering capabilities.
What will you be doing as our new Process Engineer?
As a Process Engineer in our Water Non-Infrastructure team, you will collaborate with the project design team to develop process solutions aligned with the principles of optimized plant performance, standard designs, and @one engineering standards.
Key responsibilities:
1. Design process solutions for Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants and sewerage/water systems to meet Anglian Water’s goals for customer service, environmental sustainability, and efficiency. Your deliverables will include:
2. Technical schedules and data sheets.
3. Engineering calculations (hydraulic, pump, mass balance, RICS, etc.).
4. Specifications for engineering subcontracts.
5. Collaborate with the supply chain and analyze technical bids.
6. Oversee process calculations, hydraulics, unit processes, pump and capacity calculations, and technical bid analysis of third-party process equipment.
7. Communicate effectively across relevant levels to ensure technical excellence.
8. Escalate issues impacting time, cost, or quality proactively.
9. Support health and safety standards, ensuring designs comply with CDM Regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
10. Maintain close links with other engineering teams to ensure smooth interdisciplinary interfaces, manage overlaps, and share best practices.
Skills, experience, and behaviors required:
You should have a degree in water/wastewater process science or engineering and experience in process engineering within water/wastewater and biosolids treatment. Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and collaboration are essential. Excellent IT skills and the ability to combine technical expertise with people skills will enable you to deliver optimal process engineering solutions.
