About the role
As an Adults Social Worker you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments, reviews and support to adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities. You will work closely with clients, their families and multi-disciplinary teams to develop tailored care plans that promote independence and well-being. The ideal Adults Social Worker will be well-versed in care act assessments, MCA (Mental Capacity Act) BIA (Best Interests Assessments) and related documentation. Some court work may be involved, requiring familiarity with legal procedures and proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments under the Care Act, MCA and BIA frameworks
Complete regular reviews and updates to support care planning
Work collaboratively with clients, families and professionals to ensure holistic care approaches
Manage complex cases involving mental health and learning disability needs
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all assessments, reviews and interventions
Responsible for some court work, including reports and attendance at hearings
Adhere to relevant legislation and organisational policies to ensure best practice standardsCandidate Requirements:
Proven experience as an Adults Social Worker within mental health and learning disabilities
Strong knowledge of the Care Act, MCA and BI assessments
Ability to undertake reviews and assessments effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
