Job Purpose and Impact
The Chemical Plant Operator II will operate, perform maintenance and troubleshoot broad issues for a series of machines and equipment in the use of chemicals to produce consumer products with an understanding of policies and procedures, using judgement and selectivity with regular guidance. In this role, you will run analytical tests and ensure quality control during chemical processes and maintain a dynamic and continuous process flow that meets safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities
1. Set up and operate equipment, technology tools and chemical, mechanical or thermal processes in assigned areas of the production facility, requiring interaction of several variables.
2. Monitor equipment and control panels and control loops, execute manual valves, sample and run analytical tests, adjust chemical processes using selectivity and judgement and utilize computer systems to input and record data, working from written or verbal instructions, selectivity and judgement.
3. Use power tools, basic hand tools and electrical tools to perform preventative and autonomous maintenance, troubleshoot complex machine issues.
4. Interact with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations relative to current and prior responsibilities and knowledge, with authority to make minor changes, as defined by management.
5. Ensure collection and completion of safety permits, safety reviews and safety practices.
6. Operate mobile powered equipment ( forklift, skid loader, sit down floor sweeper, front end loader).
7. Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment utilized by the facility to troubleshoot, perform light maintenance and complete repair work.
