Academics are currently working in partnership with a well-established Alternative Provision in Maidstone to recruit a dedicated SEN Teacher. This setting supports pupils with Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and additional learning needs, who require a more personalised and nurturing approach to education.
You will be teaching small classes or individual pupils, delivering engaging and structured lessons tailored to meet diverse needs, while helping students re-engage with learning and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons suited to SEN learners
Support pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Track progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching pupils with SEN (in AP, SEN school, or mainstream settings)
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
