Secondary Science Teacher - Prestwich

Salary: £168-£232 per day (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

We are currently working in partnership with a successful and well-established secondary school that is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher from September 2026.

The Role
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. There may also be opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5, depending on your experience and subject specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies
Support students in developing scientific knowledge, enquiry skills, and critical thinking
Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations, ensuring strong outcomes
Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment
Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Have experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in one or more Science disciplines
Possess effective classroom management and organisational skills
Show a commitment to raising student attainment and engagement
Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
Eligibility Requirements:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
