We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Group Director of Finance to oversee all aspects of financial management and contribute the to development and execution of our financial strategy. Working alongside the Group CFO, the role leads the Finance team towards being value stewards while collaborating with the wider business to support BAU activities. In this new role, you will play a pivotal part in enabling innovation, driving efficiency, supporting procurement, our social value objectives and align technology initiatives in support of our community impact outcomes. Flexibility in relation to the location of the role is offered - to work out of any of our national offices with regular travel to Uxbridge Interviews will take place from early September What you'll Do: Working alongside the Group CFO, the role leads the Finance team towards being value stewards while collaborating with the wider business to support BAU activities. This is a key operational financial role with responsibility to: · Lead all core financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting. Own the annual financial and tax planning cycle, ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance standards. Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and controls to support compliance and risk management. Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring data integrity and alignment with business objectives. Drive the implementation of a robust FP&A framework and enhance the budgeting and forecasting processes. Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making and strategic planning. Collaborate with business units to understand their financial needs and align financial strategies with organisational objectives. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to foster a high-performing function. Work with People and Culture teams to ensure compliance and sustainability of payroll and pension schemes, working closely with the CFO to align with long-term financial goals. Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions. Oversee the implementation of systems and tools that improve financial processes and reporting capabilities. Lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies and ensure alignment with industry best practices. Champion the finance function’s alignment with the organisation’s vision, mission, and values. [MC3] Adhoc projects and initiatives as required by the business. What you'll Bring: Qualified Chartered Accountant status (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Extensive experience in a financial leadership and demonstrable success across different sectors. Proven capability in financial planning, management and leading transformation initiatives which embed strong financial controls and process automation. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks (Companies House, Charity Commission, etc.). Strong track record in financial analysis, reporting, and interpretation of financial statements. Experience managing audits, governance processes and risk mitigation strategies. Demonstrated effectiveness in people management of Finance teams based on exemplary professional standards. Proficiency in financial systems and tools that enhance operational efficiency, risk management, decision support and strategic reporting. Experience working across business units to align financial operations with wider objectives. Demonstrated ability to deliver financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and executive leadership. Advanced proficiency and demonstrated track record in financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, budgeting, planning and interpretation of financial statements. Strong initiative and well developed self-organisation, prioritisation and administration skills. A solutions focused adaptability and resilience in the face of change.
