Join AMD Electrical as a Junior Estimator Apprentice and work towards a Level 3 Construction Support Technician qualification. Learn to prepare estimates, review drawings, carry out take-offs, and support project handovers including O&M manuals, while gaining hands-on industry experience.
What you'll do at work
* Assist with preparing electrical estimates, quotations, and tender submissions
* Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings
* Use AutoCAD to review drawings and identify key project details
* Support the preparation of bills of quantities and pricing schedules
* Request and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
* Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams
* Assist in identifying project scope, risks, and exclusions
* Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation
* Support the handover of successful projects to delivery teams
* Assist in compiling O&M manuals for completed projects
* Gather documentation such as datasheets, certificates, warranties, and as-built drawings
* Help ensure manuals are complete and meet client and project requirements
* Carry out general administrative duties related to estimating and pre-construction

Objective: Prepare for independent working and final assessment
