We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team based in Norfolk. This position involves supporting high-security civils projects, requiring occasional travel to assist other sites as necessary.
This role requires a strong understanding of SHEQ standards and a proven track record of ensuring compliance. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to manage responsibilities under pressure.
* Conduct audits and inspections to identify hazards and assess risks.
* Offer guidance and support to management and teams on SHEQ issues.
* Manage permitting and inspections, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, developing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Coordinate SHEQ training to ensure team readiness for safe operations.
* Monitor and report on key SHEQ performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Holds IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications (or is working towards them).
* Qualified in SMSTS (Units 1-3).
* Experience in utility or construction site environments with strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
* Preferred qualifications include Lifting Operations accreditation.
* Skilled in preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and incident reports.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
* Physically fit and detail-oriented, capable of managing responsibilities under pressure.
