About the Role The Opportunity This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role at the heart of EDF’s strategy for a net zero future. As a Senior Analyst in our Energy Economics team – part of the influential Net Zero Strategy & Policy division – you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping EDF’s strategic direction through deep, insightful analysis of the evolving energy market. While the Energy Economics team covers both market analysis and modelling, this role will have a specific focus on long-term power market modelling – developing, maintaining and applying sophisticated models to produce strategic insight that supports key business decisions. You’ll take ownership of EDF’s long-term power market modelling for Great Britain and Ireland, designing and maintaining sophisticated tools to deliver forward-looking, strategic insights. Your work will be critical to informing investment decisions, identifying market risks and opportunities, and helping to shape the future policy and regulatory environment. What you’ll be doing As an Energy Economics Senior Analyst, you will: Lead EDF’s long-term power market modelling for Great Britain and Irish markets, using commercial software to deliver robust, data-driven insights., implement and maintain analytical tools that enhance EDF’s market intelligence and modelling Design capabilities. Develop forward-looking scenarios, ensuring quantitative coherence across EDF Group, and directly influencing strategic and investment decisions. Provide high-quality analysis to support key projects, shape policy discussions, and strengthen EDF’s understanding of market risks and opportunities. Build credibility as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across EDF. Stay ahead of regulatory, technological, and competitive developments across UK electricity and connected markets, identifying strategic risks and emerging trends. Operate with autonomy and initiative, responding flexibly to evolving business needs and strategic priorities, mentoring team members, and strengthening the team’s capabilities. Present clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders. Challenge and review complex analysis, ensuring rigour, robustness and strategic relevance in all outputs. You’ll bring: Energy market expertise – a strong understanding of the UK power sector or similar markets, with a passion for diving deeper into the energy transition. Analytical and modelling skills – proven experience developing and applying power market models and/or using programming languages like Python or VBA.
