Job overview

Come and join a dynamic team, supporting patients in a unique outpatient setting with 7 rooms currently. Primarily supporting rheumatology patients, but with other specialities such as dermatology, respiratory, and psychology also using the outpatient facilities that are available.

Main duties of the job

1. As a band 3 HCSW you will embrace and implement the vision and values of HHFT.
2. To work to the code of conduct for Healthcare Assistants
3. To be responsible for contributing to the creation and maintenance of a clinical environment in which care and compassion is consistently demonstrated, ensuring patient centred care, privacy and dignity is practiced at all times.
4. To support the qualified staff in their responsibility for ensuring and maintaining a high quality seven day, twenty-four hour service for all aspects of their work and the staff in their area /department.
5. To complete the Trust Competency Framework, achieve the minimum skill set and achieve specialist competencies as appropriate. To maintain and develop own learning record of evidence, including booking and attending all statutory, mandatory and Trust or speciality specific training
6. To contribute to a department/ward based framework to support clinical supervision and education for all staff and students.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

7. Literacy level 1 or equivalent (GCSE D-G).
8. Numeracy level 1 or equivalent (GCSE D-G)
9. ESOL level 1 or equivalent (if English not first language)
10. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)

Desirable criteria

11. NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Health or Health and Social Care or working towards an award
12. Literacy level 2 or equivalent (GCSE A-C).
13. Numeracy level 2 or equivalent (GCSE A-C)
14. ESOL level 2 or equivalent (if English not first language).

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria

15. Previous experience in a Health/Health and Social Care role.

Desirable criteria

16. Previous NHS experience
17. Understanding NHS/Social care systems

Skills & Ability

Essential criteria

18. Able to work within a team
19. Able to work without direct supervision.
20. Good written and verbal communication in the English language
