This unique home learning role is ideal for a teacher with compassion, creativity, and resilience—someone who can build trust, tailor learning, and bring out the best in children who may struggle in traditional settings.

If you believe that every child deserves a champion, especially those who find school the hardest, and you’re ready to teach with empathy, flexibility, and purpose—we would love to hear from you. This is teaching at its most rewarding.

This role is primarily to deliver lessons at the home of children who are unable to attend our setting. Access to own vehicle is required due to the travel required. The staff member will be based on our Ashington site.

It is essential that candidates have experience and confidence in behaviour management due to the nature of our setting.

The successful applicants should:

- Be able to work within a team to create and implement bespoke learning pathways for our students aligning with our school Curriculum

- Be willing and able to plan, deliver, and report using the settings's policies and procedures, including using online platform/s

- Be able to deliver high quality teaching at the home of students and/or online, and in centre when required

- Always think ahead to work towards encouraging students to move through a transition plan and work towards on-site education

- Have exceptional behaviour management skills

- Have exceptional reporting skills

- Be flexible in all aspects of teaching and learning and pastoral/ behaviour

- Be organised and able to have lessons planned and resourced prior to attending any sessions

- Have experience and an understanding of the needs of children with SEN, and a willingness to adapt as necessary and provide an individualised experience for every single child

- Adhere to the ethos of our school at all times and promote the school positively at all times

Who are we looking for?

The staff member will:

* Have QTS/ QTLS
* Have a minimum of 2 years experience working with children or families with SEN or challenging behaviours
* Consider safeguarding an utmost priority and an ability to deal with safeguarding incidents swiftly and confidently
* Be an excellent team player and actively promote a team ethos
* Have an understanding of the social and emotional issues which may face our students, and use trauma-informed strategies when delivering
* Follow our behaviour policy, and be capable of setting expectations and boundaries
* Develop positive relationships with students based on our ethos of ‘connection before correction’
* Promote equality and diversity
* Develop good working relationships with colleagues
* Liaise with leadership team as appropriate to promote overall positive centre mental health and wellbeing

We can offer you:

- An exciting opportunity to be part of a trauma-informed setting, with professional challenges to face on occasion, but rewarding outcomes

- A supportive leadership team

- A continuously improving and expanding educational provision

Working days: Monday- Friday term time only plus 3 days during school holidays

Working hours:

40 hours per week

The core hours of the business are 8am – 6pm. We require all staff to be in-centre for a minimum of the hours of 9am-3pm plus required training or meetings, but the additional duties can be completed throughout the core hours.

A full timetable will be provided and this may change on a day to day basis, depending on staffing.

We also welcome all of our staff to participate in our Career Progression Pathway. This is an Award scheme unique to our setting which allows staff to work their way up towards their career goals through hands-on experience and qualifications.

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We implement all aspects of the safer recruitment process. The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and references.
