What You'll Be Doing
Are you a multi-skilled Engineer or Engineering Shift Leader seeking a technically challenging and varied role? Can you lead and empower a team? We are looking for an Engineering Shift Leader to manage a team of Engineers maintaining and improving plant and equipment performance to achieve maximum machine availability.
* Lead an engineering shift team to foster a high-performing culture with motivated, engaged, and supported team members.
* Plan and prioritize shift workload to meet production targets by maximizing machinery uptime.
* Execute preventative maintenance schedules to maximize uptime and reduce production disruptions.
* Ensure all plant and equipment comply with relevant legislation, maintaining a safe working environment.
* Manage permit-to-work procedures to ensure safe contractor and colleague operations.
* Ensure adherence to GMP and food safety standards within the manufacturing environment.
* Create a high-performing team culture through setting expectations, leading by example, and supporting development.
* Accurately document shift activities, performance, escalate events, and contribute to daily meetings using CMMS and relevant reports.
Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off.
What We're Looking For
We value diversity at Greencore, believing it helps us make every day taste better. Our ideal candidate will:
* Hold a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, ideally NVQ Level 3, gained through apprenticeship or study.
* Have knowledge of permit systems, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Possess supervisory experience.
* Have practical fault-finding experience on manufacturing machinery.
* Display PLC awareness and fault-finding skills.
* Understand maintenance of engineering systems within manufacturing.
* Experience in food or FMCG manufacturing is desirable.
