Location: You’ll be based at one of our depots:
* Coldharbour Depot (ME20 7NS)
* Farthing Corner Depot (ME8 8PG)
* Stanford Depot (CT21 4UX)
Hours: 39 hours per week, with a shift pattern that includes days and nights.
Salary: £13.45 to £15.83 per hour (depending on experience) + uplifts for night shifts, call-outs, and overtime.

Your Responsibilities
As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Kier Highways team in delivering essential maintenance and improvement works across the local road network. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
* Operating light plant machinery such as compressors, rollers, and disc cutters, including daily maintenance checks.
* Assisting skilled operatives with kerbing, drainage, paving, surfacing, and repair works.
* Excavating soil, rock, asphalt, and concrete using hand and powered tools.
* Performing general site duties including sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, and handling materials.
* Carrying out tasks such as grass cutting, gully emptying, strimming, and traffic management.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
* Have experience in highway maintenance or a similar field.
* Possess a can-do attitude and are willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
