Planner Role Overview
Octavius Infrastructure’s Regional Civil Engineering (ORCE) business is rapidly evolving, with key contract awards driving growth in the South East of England. We are looking to enhance our delivery capability by recruiting an additional Planner to join our ORCE function.
This hybrid role requires travel to sites twice per week in the South East of England (East and West Sussex). The successful candidate will work on planning packages of works, collaborating closely with operational managers, customers, stakeholders, our main design partner, other designers, supplier partners, and delivery teams to create solutions that delight our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, produce, and update programmes for multiple projects across a range of civil engineering disciplines.
* Publish regular updates and ensure programmes are commercially compliant with contracts.
* Support the commercial and delivery teams to capture all change in the programme and identify and evaluate risks, not only in planning but across the project as a whole.
* Ensure that legislative, Octavius’, and customers’ mandatory policies and procedures are delivered within the governance framework.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying better and more efficient ways of achieving outcomes, and implementing new thinking and innovation through collaboration.
* Put safety, health, wellbeing, environment, and sustainability at the heart of decision making, and actively participate in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events.

About You
* Engineering knowledge with relevant experience in suitable disciplines (such as structures, highways, rail, infrastructure, etc.).
* Excellent knowledge of applying planning software to create clear, comprehensive, and realistic programmes.
* Ability to plan from first principles and a good understanding of construction design and NEC contract requirements.
* Experience with Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Project.
* Highly organised, a relationship builder, a creative problem solver, resilient, and focused on quality.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong IT skills.
* Ideally come from a site background and have transitioned into planning, bringing practical insight to your work.
You’ll Bring
* A related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Construction or Civil Engineering.
* Completion of courses relevant to a career in planning.
* CSCS card.
* Previous experience with a tier one or two contracting group working on civil engineering infrastructure.
