Academics Canterbury are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Worker to join an exceptional Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Canterbury.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting students with a variety of SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and other additional needs, across the school day.
* Supporting teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
* Collaborating with teachers, teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide consistent, targeted support.
* Encouraging positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
* Helping students develop independence, confidence, and key life skills.
* Observing and reporting on student progress to inform teaching strategies and support plans.
What we're looking for
* Experienced or eager to be an SEN Support Worker with students with SEN, showing patience, empathy, and understanding.
* Committed to helping students succeed and confident in building strong, supportive relationships.
* Able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues, students, and parents.
* Knowledgeable, or willing to develop knowledge, of SEN, behaviour management strategies, and personalised support approaches.
