About the Role
As Distribution & Logistics IT Manager, you will be the technology partner between the Stafford Fulfilment Centre (SFC) key stakeholders and the Support Office central IT function.
This is a role which will take the strategic customer requirements of the SFC operation and translate them into technical product requirements. It will also act as the conduit between the needs of the operation, and the strategy and direction of the IT development teams.
The role will be responsible for maintaining senior stakeholder relationships with the SFC operation, in turn setting technical direction for the Service Delivery Manager and Service Desk onsite team providing support services to SFC, ensuring that any services delivered are balanced, consistent and meet the needs and expectations of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering
* Work with the Retail Business Partner to support technology strategy development solution discovery, risk management and relationship management.
* Support to ensure a clear portfolio and roadmap is in place for both current and desired technology outputs.
* Embed within the Support Office wider management team, operating as a trusted technology advisor to that team and to all key interface points.
* Provide clear articulation of business area plan back into the IT teams for those supporting teams to be able to provide the best quality solutions and services.
* Represent the IT capacity into the business area such that expectations of service are understood.
Product Ownership
* Working with local stakeholders and development teams, identify and provide continuous improvement to the Stafford Fulfilment centre technology including third party systems.
* Work closely with the business to ensure all requests are fully articulated, prioritised and understood within clear Project Requests.
* Key player in the mitigation of change delivery risk including ensuring appropriate quality assurance and business risk articulation for the go-live of any change.
* Responsibility of patching and ensuring all systems are on a supported version
* Provide advice, guidance and oversight to change teams delivering for the business area
* Update the product backlog, to prioritise the features to develop. Continually evaluate and refine the product/service to ensure that the deliverables continue to meet the needs of the business.
Service Relationship
* Being the lead partner for IT operations; translating business strategy and goals into technology solutions to enable the continued success of the Fulfilment Centre
* Own the relationship with our 3rd party IT partners, managing contracts, renewals, services and service improvement plans.
* Define and deliver the KPI’s required to deliver service operations to meet the needs of the business. Monitor performance and provide regular service operations updates to the business on performance.
* Work closely with the SFC Service Delivery Manager to ensure a unified IT approach and drive Service Improvement Plans across the business.
* Determine root cause from Service Interruptions and ensure that continuous improvement reduces future occurrences.
* Work with both the IT and business teams to recognise key challenges in current technology and the prioritisation of the most important areas to address.
Financial Accountability
* Manage operational budgets for IT Service/Support Contracts up to £0.5m
About You
* Experienced product owner
* Industry knowledge, specifically gained in a Distribution Centre environment.
* Experience in service management, partner management, people management and project delivery typically associated with a number of years of experience in the function.
* Ideally experience of working in and support of a Corporate/Head Office environment.
* Experience in managing technology service delivery within a complex business operating environment.
* Customer-oriented approach and outcome focused.
* Proven experience within IT Service Management with business relationship or project/portfolio management experience.
* A thorough understanding of technology and its application to business issues.
* Strong communication with an ability to articulate strategies, visions and desired outcomes.
* Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
