Are you an organised individual? Do you have Paws-itivity to co-ordinate and manage all volunteer opportunities for our Rehoming Centre?
As our Volunteer Coordinator you will be part of the recruitment, selection, and induction of all our amazing volunteers! As part of our Charity wide volunteering strategy, you will be a key player in championing best practice and standards!
Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term contract position working 17.5 hours per week.
What does this role do?
As Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll:
* Be a strong relationship manager, you’ll build relationships with staff across the centre, the Volunteering Development team and the wider organisation to deliver an excellent volunteer experience.
* Where volunteers are shared across services, you will liaise with the Supporter Relations Officer, over occasional volunteer support for fundraising activities, the Home from Home Coordinator in support of our home fostering service and, where appropriate, with the local Dogs Trust Charity Shop Managers over any volunteers shared between the shops and the rehoming centre.
Could this be you?
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of customer care and the role of volunteers in an organisation, including their integration, management and motivation. You\'ll have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong leadership skills with ability to engage and work effectively with large groups of people with varying backgrounds and skill levels. You will also have a positive attitude, methodical approach to work with the ability to work under your own initiative. But above all a passion and commitment to work and the goals of Dogs Trust.
A full, manual driving licence is also essential, as driving will be a part of the role.
