We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our Structural Team based in Watford, working on major infrastructure projects. You will assist in the design, analysis, and delivery of structural engineering solutions, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the design, analysis, and detailing of structural systems for infrastructure projects, including bridges and related structures.
* Perform structural calculations to ensure compliance with Eurocodes and British Standards.
* Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
* Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs.
* Conduct site visits and inspections, providing technical input for repairs or modifications.
* Use structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro, Tekla, AutoCAD) for modeling and assessment.
* Support senior engineers in project planning and delivery, addressing design and cost challenges.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout design and construction phases.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
* 5–8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, ideally within infrastructure projects.
* Experience with concrete and/or steel design is highly beneficial.
* Familiarity with structural design software and strong knowledge of engineering principles.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
