About the Company A well‑established and forward‑thinking engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal or Senior E&P Design Engineer to join its growing design team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of complex, multi‑disciplinary projects while mentoring and developing junior team members. About the Role You will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, primarily within rail and building services, with opportunities to contribute to energy‑related schemes. The role offers a flexible hybrid working model, combining home working with collaboration from the Preston Brook office. Responsibilities Lead and deliver Low Voltage (LV) electrical and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) design solutions across rail, building services, and energy projects Work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary design teams Manage, mentor, and support members of the design team, aiding their technical and professional development Produce and review detailed engineering designs using industry‑standard tools Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practice, including CDM requirements where applicable Contribute to project planning, coordination, and technical assurance Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience in Low Voltage / M&E design Proven experience working on multi‑disciplinary projects Strong working knowledge of engineering design tools IEng or CEng accredited with a relevant Engineering Institution, or actively working towards chartership Experience working within a BIM environment Strong understanding of UK design standards and regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confident user of Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) Required Skills Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations Experience delivering projects within rail or building services Pay range and compensation package Competitive salary and benefits package Hybrid working arrangement for improved work‑life balance Exposure to technically challenging and varied projects Clear opportunities for career progression and professional development Supportive team culture with a strong focus on training and mentorship Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices.
