Clinical Lead – Stroke Rehabilitation (West of England ISDN)
North Bristol NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Lead to support the West of England Integrated Stroke Delivery Network (ISDN). This is a 0.5 WTE secondment for an initial 12‑month period, extendable for another 12 months on mutual agreement.
Job Overview
Secondment at NHS England South West region, hosted by North Bristol Trust. The role focuses on community stroke rehabilitation, leading service transformation and providing expert guidance to management and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide professional clinical leadership to the ISDN and the South West stroke programme.
* Leverage rehabilitation and community experience to shape service delivery.
* Advise on whole‑pathway improvements and transformation, ensuring expert scrutiny for all rehabilitation areas.
* Deliver clinical advice to constituent organisations (commissioners and providers).
* Communicate the ISDN strategy and objectives, prioritising quality and outcomes from national to local levels.
Qualifications
* Master’s level education in a relevant subject, or equivalent qualification or significant experience.
* Professional registration with a nursing or AHP body.
* Recognised project management qualification desirable.
Experience
* In‑depth knowledge of stroke rehabilitation pathways.
* Senior role experience within the NHS stroke community.
* Project‑focused working experience.
* Understanding of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis.
* Experience working in formal clinical networks within the NHS.
Skills
* Excellent time‑management and ability to re‑prioritise.
* Strong communication skills for complex information and administrative matters.
* Analytical and report‑writing abilities, including data synthesis.
* Negotiating, networking and persuasive skills desirable.
* Advanced keyboard skills and proficiency in Excel, Word and Access.
* Ability to work autonomously, organising and prioritising workloads to tight deadlines.
* Commitment to quality; promotes high standards in all work.
