What You’ll Do As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you’ll take a leadership role in delivering high-quality, regulation-compliant developments. You’ll: Manage complex Building Regulation applications under the Building Act 1984, ensuring compliance across safety, sustainability, and accessibility standards. Oversee investigations into dangerous structures and demolition notifications, ensuring public safety. Support and lead enforcement actions to uphold the Council’s statutory responsibilities. Contribute to mentoring and development of junior surveyors and help shape service delivery as we continue to modernise. Represent the service professionally with developers, architects, and residents, building trust and adding value. Whether you’re already Class 2 registered with the Building Safety Regulator, or are actively working towards it, we want to hear from you. What You’ll Bring In-depth technical knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation. Confidence in managing higher-risk, complex developments and making informed, balanced decisions. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear technical advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
